MØ – Bikini Daze EP (review)

Move over Lorde, Lykke Li and Genesis and say hello to this super upcoming Scandinavian solo artist who goes by the name of MØ.

The Danes exciting EP ‘Bikini Daze’ showcases four brilliant fresh tracks including the Diplo collab’ XXX 88, the superbly bass-heavy Dark Night and, in my opinion, the biggest tune on the EP; Never Wanna Know.

Remarkably Karen Marie Ørsted has produced an EP that really stands out of the crowd and speaks volumes of personality despite belonging to quite a busy genre that can be described as ‘oddball synth-pop’.

All in all, Bikini Daze is more than a promising idea of what to expect from the songstress in the future, and it’s a genuinely impressive EP that’s worth a listen or two if weird (but wonderful) icy sounding pop is what you’re into.
