Izzy Bizu – ‘A Moment Of Madness’ Album Review

Release Date: 2nd September 2016

Label: Epic Records

Three years after her initial breakthrough, London-based singer Izzy Bizu has released an uplifting, Jazz-Soul pop record that is sure to bring a smile to your day.

The full-length, debut album, features 17 songs, each filled with Bizu’s honey-dipped vocals, punchy beats and jazz-inspired melodies. There are moments were likeness to Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Adele styled vocals can be made, and the record is full of soul and story telling; each song is like a diary entry from Izzy and the life lessons she has learnt.

Arguably the first six songs are the most upbeat and fun loving, including the catchy chart topper White Tiger, Skinny and Naïve Soul, however there is also a rare collaborative gem with British Electronic Soul duo, Honne called Someone That Loves You, nestled near the end of the record which is one of the more notable songs in the second half of this huge album.

Izzy Bizu is a little ray of soulful sunshine, and this album is easy listening jazz-inflected pop at its best. Worth a listen and guaranteed to brighten up your day. You can check out more of the album on the SoundCloud link below:
